Momo Otani (born in 1992, Tokyo)
After graduating from the High School attached to Kunitachi College of Music, Momo Otani enrolled in the Electronic Organ Department at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music. While studying there, she met jazz pianist Yuki Arimasa, who was also a professor in the university’s Jazz Course. Inspired by this encounter, she began studying jazz and switched her focus to the genre in her third year.
After graduating from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, decided to pursue a professional career as a jazz musician. She has since been actively performing primarily in Japan with her own piano trio as well as a variety of other ensembles and musicians.
In the winter of 2016, she met French guitarist Christophe Pannekoucke during his visit to Japan.
The two quickly developed a strong musical connection and continued to collaborate extensively, fostering cross-cultural musical projects and performances between Japan and Europe.
In 2018, they recorded and released their first duet album, Lucky to Be Me, in France, followed by tours in France, London, and Japan.
She do also MOMOCURLY, a band formed in 2019 whose distinctive sound blends jazz, French pop, and Japanese city pop. The group released its debut full-length album, COSMIC LIPS, on March 1, 2020, followed by the cover EP It's a Lovely Day Today on June 1 of the same year. In 2021, she released her solo Wurlitzer vocal-and-piano album Momo Solo I, and in 2022 MOMOCURLY released its second album, II.
She was responsible for all piano performances and arrangements on Tea for Two, released by Della.
Today, Momo teaches piano lessons and leads ensemble workshops at TOKYO PULSE, a music school and creative community based in Tokyo.

国立音楽大学附属高等学校を卒業後、洗足学園音楽大学電子オルガン科に入学。ジャズコースの教授でもあるジャズピアニスト ユキアリマサ氏に出会ったことがきっかけで、ジャズを始めるようになり３年次よりジャズに転身。
その後本格的にジャズミュージシャンを志し、洗足学園音楽大学を卒業後、関東を中心に自身のピアノトリオ他、様々なミュージシャンとのバンドで精力的に活動を行う。2016年冬フランス人ギタリスト、クリストフパンヌクック氏の来日をきっかけに意気投合、その後も共演を重ね、国内外問わずヨーロッパと日本の国境を越えた演奏活動を深める。
2018年に初デュエットアルバム、Lucky to be meをフランスでレコーディング、リリースし、フランス、ロンドン、日本でのツアーを行った。
また2019年に結成されたバンドMOMOCURLYではジャズ、フレンチポップ、日本のシティポップの要素を絶妙なバランスで織り込んだ魅力的なサウンドが好評を博し、2020年3月1日に初、フルオリジナルアルバム、"COSMIC LIPS"をリリース。また、6月1日にはカバーEP、"Its a lovely day today"をリリース。2021年にはWurlizer弾き語りソロアルバム“Momo Solo I”2022年にはMomocurlyのセカンドアルバム“Ⅱ”をリリース。
レーベル、デラよりリリースされた“Tea for two二人でお茶を”の全曲ピアノ演奏、アレンジを担当。BandcampMomocurly.com で購入可。
現在は主にミュージックスクール/コミュニティ、TOKYO PULSEでピアノレッスンやアンサンブルラボを担当している。
